Office of Latino Projects (OLP)

Mission: The Office of Latino Projects is a social and economic justice resource center providing information, data and policy analysis about the growing Latino population in the U.S. and in Southwest Border Communities for scholars, community agencies and advocates, public sector organizations, foundations and think tanks.

The  primary goals of the Office of Latino Projects are:

1.  Promote culturally-grounded and community-driven social policy research.

2.  Conduct research and policy analysis to develop fair and effective policies in areas such as immigration, migrant labor, family and community asset building, financial knowledge, health/behavioral health and stregthening children, youth and families.

3.  Develop, evaluate and disseminate information on culturally-competent and linguistically appropriate models of service delivery with Spanish-speaking individuals, families and communities.

4.  Create strategies to mentor and expand the size of the social work professional labor force that is equipped with linguistic and cultural competence to work with populations of the Southwest.
