The primary goals of the Office are to: 1. Promote culturally-grounded and community-driven social policy research focusing; 2. Conduct reserch and policy analysis to develop fair and effective policies in areas such as immigration, migrant labor, family and community asset building, financial knowledge, health/behavioral health and strengthening children, youth and families; 3. Develop, evaluate and disseminate information on culturally-competent and linguistically appropriate models of service delivery with Spanish-speaking individuals, families, and communities; and 4. Create strategies to mentor and expand the size of the social work professional labor force that is equipped with linguistic and cultural competence to work with populations of the Southwest.
